How to foster/adopt?

Hello my soon to be wifey and I are seriously considering adoption. We aren't sure how to start. Anyone who could help us that greatly appreciated.

Being a child of the foster system myself if you are adopting a foster kid you must be able to learn how to deal with a child that may have issues ,lots of foster kids have already had rough lives .Sometimes it just isn't a good fit and then you are locked in ,i would suggest try fostering for a while before full adoption.

@kodiac we really want to. I've always wanted kids since I was like 16 lol but it didn't happen. We want our own too maybe eventually but we are happy with fostering and adopting. I was always afraid of getting too attached because I have helped raise a lot of kids and have gotten really attached.

@MrsP15 I understand because i got attached to one of my foster families but i learned to not do that again .I hope it works out i think a kid would be lucky to get adopted by you

My parents tried to foster and like adoption there is alot of hoops to jump through. I would Google your states requirements.

@MrsP15 When it happens, it sounds like there are going to be some very fortunate children. Good luck with everything.

@Graylight thank you so much I've always loved children and always knew I wanted to be a mother and now I've found the person to have a family with so it's now or never

Same race different race, where what age are you financially capable in adopting a child/ infant, are they overseas or same region these are a lot to look at and sometimes the child might not like your place will they fit in you need to look at all these I know race doesn’t matter to you but it does to some adoption companies as they need to fit you and your lifestyle and culture depending the age of the child , and all you need to do is apply ? ☺️☺️👍🏻👍🏻 I hope it works out for you.

@MOONAMONA86 thank you! We are basically talking about it and getting ready to start looking into it. We don't drive or have our licences so we have to get those first. We just want to be ready. And age and race dont matter to us. We just want to help. I've been in the daycare field since I was 17 and before that I was the neighborhood nanny. And I've seen a lot and we love kids and just want to help. We want our own kids too someday but we want this too
