Okay, so for the homosexual people. What do you think of gay parades?

Are they a bit much? don’t like them? Do they misrepresented what it means? What are your thoughts?
MagesMax · 22-25, M
I don't engage in them; however, I understand why people get involved in them.
Do they represent LGBT people and our behavior? No.
What they do represent is being open and loud in reverence to the muzzling, silencing, and criminalization that has occurred and continues to occur in the world.
I see pride as paying respect to those that suffered and continue to suffer from oppression.

I think the gay pride parades are a way of proving that gay people actually live among everyone else in society. Gay people don't have to hide anymore...it's okay to be gay in public.

I have an 11 year old grandson who is gay and he marches in the parade with lots of other boys and girls around his age. I think that the pride parade is one of the ways that he can publicly share his sexuality with other kids.

So I think the parades are great. As long as they continue to promote inclusion they will continue to grow in popularity.

@spjennifer There don't need to be ANY semi-naked displays.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@Quizzical I don't disagree with you but in any crowd, there will always be a couple of people who take things a little too far, liquor doesn't help the situation either.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@spjennifer Well, that's certainly true... And other substances

Personally, i don't attend them but for many, they are a way to come bursting out of the closet they live in for most of the year. There is nothing wrong with being proud or with celebrating/supporting the community.
GoldenWorm · 51-55, M
It's not your business if LGBTQ take pride. Fact is the community is under renewed threats from Trumpvangelicals. Pride is a way to resist. And it works
Disposal · 36-40, M
I asked for opinions. Not a crime to seek people opinion now is it. @GoldenWorm
Honestly, it is a thing that exists. Pride Month to me is something that people either like, detest, or are indifferent. I would go to something like this if I had the means to, but I'm not like one of those that get all hyped up for it like idiots do for the Super Bowl, and such.

Yes, I am a femme lesbian, but I also would prefer to have these activities after sunset because I am NOT FOND of sunlight.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
I’ve never been to one. I kinda ignore Pride Month, to be honest. It is very nice to see all the support from others though. I would like to go to a parade at some point though.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
I don't like them and they are misreprentative of a majority of LGBT people. They do far more harm to the 'cause' than good.
XReaganX · 26-30, F
I think it's a little unbalanced. Heterosexuals need a parade too. :p Honestly, any reason to party. Lol
CuriousCuckold · 61-69, M
@XReaganX You are right! You could order all of us homosexuals to pull your floats down the street.
