When you really love someone, you do what's best for them. Sometimes that may mean spending time with them, but it may also mean saying goodbye and moving on. Neither option is easy and, unfortunately, it's really not up to you to decide. It's up to them.

You may want that, but that would just lead to awkwardness and pain. Unless the other person is a narcissist, they probably won’t feel comfortable either knowing that you feel that way, but they don’t.
