Those who still disbelieve and spread ill-informed views really should wake up

I'm more than a bit fed up of sheeple bleating on that this is all fearmongering and that every year loads of people die from normal Flu. NO, this IS different, it is way more infectious and way more deadly. In normal flu most people, even elderly would be expected to get through an episode of flu - It can kill, of course but percentage wise of those who catch it very few die. Covid isn't like that and we see regularly younger people dying, or having long term health consequences, middle aged people dying, and people who don't have pre-existing health issues die too..

We need not to be in denial and we need to make sure we stay safe.

If the deniers don't want to stay safe that's fine, as long as they stay away from everyone else.. so no infecting innocent people, no going to the doctor or hospital - no way should those people risk their lives treating people who can't be bothered or are too dumb to understand the information that is out there.

Here's part of a story that appears in the Times UK today that shows that there ARE more deaths because of COVID and also shows that the amount of extra deaths does match quite closely that of the reported deaths for Covid..

"Last year there was the largest increase in deaths in a single year in England and Wales since 1940.

Office for National Statistics figures show that there were 608,002 deaths registered in England and Wales last year, up 15 per cent from 530,841 in 2019.

It is the first double-digit increase since 1940, which had 16 per cent more deaths than 1939. It is also the highest total number of deaths since 1918, when there were 611,861. The total last year was 75,925 above the five-year average."
