OK here's the thing...

We all pay our taxes for the common good. We all (mostly) keep to the speed limit for the common good. We send children to school for the common good. We're happy to do things for the common good.

So why do some people not want to wear masks?
Some still believe the virus is a hoax, somehow. Even with all the deaths and the ridiculous ease of infection, they think the media’s lying to them about it. And they’re willing to accept any harebrained conspiracy theory over the fact that everyday life has changed for all of us. 😞

@bijouxbroussard Just drink some bleach... I have to engage in dark humor or lose my mind at the idiocity... people are dying and the stable genius doesn't help much
@SW-User He could’ve made things so much easier by not dividing people with political bs over a life and death issue. He chose not to.

@bijouxbroussard He's a disaster

I think this is mainly an American, where not wearing a mask has become an expression of political opinions. Quite absurd.
@helenS It is rather stupid, when someone has to be talked into taking steps to help save lives—including their own. 😒
Cause you dont really want to pay taxes - and if you could (and most people already do) go over the speed limit a bit. And you have to send your kids to school - that's the law - So you arn't doing anything willingly out of the goodness of your heart you're doing it so you don't go to jail or have to pay a fine.

@MarmeeMarch True. I would have thought, though, that to protect your own health you would wear a mask in public, or at least in indoor public spaces.
@SW-User I do - it's not only common sense, it's the law. But law aside I would wear a mask if they did not make it a law - but the problem is - other's would not and put me at risk.

@MarmeeMarch All we can do is our best to protect ourselves and others :)

Nope, people do not do things for the common good, people do things because they HAVE to or it's a law. If they really did, we wouldn't need stop signs.
SW-User
The people who don't want to wear masks also don't want to pay taxes. It hurts their freedom.

They itchy... sarcasm, sorry dark right now

I disagree with the whole theory.
Doomflower · 36-40, M
@Powderflask I agree. These things are mandatory for the common good because the average person is literally incapable of caring about faceless millions of others. Our brains have room for close relationships with about 250 people. More than that and it starts getting abstract.
