What鈥檚 your favorite Christmas movie

Mines muppets a Christmas carol 馃

I like the Alastair Sim version of A Christmas carol. - 1951

Scrooged. For the 'extreme' modern day re-telling of A Christmas carol. -1988

The apartment - 1960. Not a movie about Christmas but is often shown at the time. Most other Christmas movies are jolly or funny or pit good guys against bad guys etc.
The apartment does the same, but it's also a tale of loneliness which is very rare but wholly relatable especially at Christmas.

Have to give a shout out for two animated movies too.
The first being The polar express which is bright and vibrant and has good casting.
By contrast, the adaptation of Raymond Briggs 'The Snowman' - 1982 is wonderful in terms of it's animation and accompanying music and the fact that at only 26 minutes long doesn't give you time to feel like channel hopping.

@Picklebobble2 My favorite version of A Christmas Carol was the musical 'Scrooge' with Albert Finney....though there were a few other versions I liked too.

My top favorite Christmas (shortfilm) movie of all time:

The Snowman (1982)

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXEoqb0_mrg]

That movie makes me shiver and cry nervously of all the fond memories of the warm moments of joy I had with my family back in the old days. It reminds us of the simplicity and of the importance of the small moments with our families and how we should not underestimate how time flies.

Words can hardly describe the feeling that grows deep in your heart when you see these images. They mean especially a lot to me because I used to spend time with old, simple , honest people. The fact they're now gone makes me miss them even more because you will hardly find anyone like them anymore in this cold and distant society.

Nevertheless, it is surely a movie to be fully appreciated.

Other good ones:
- It's a wonderful life (1946)
- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
- National Lampoon's Christmas vacation

I try to watch three Xmas movies every year. It's a Wonderful Life, Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard. The last time I tried to get It's a Wonderful Life from the library it finally showed up in February.
