How do you handle the betrayal of a friend?

SW-User
I talk to them about it..I'm a forgiving person, but you have to be able to understand why. If it happens too much, they're really not a friend then. I get sad at that point 💔

Changing ur way of thinking on how people behave... I've cut friends out because of their betrayal. I've been betrayed by my sister & brother, I've been trying to put myself in the frame of mind that I can't trust them so be careful of what I say to them. Cutting my siblings isn't really an option for me... currently going through a divorce & my ex husband has blamed everything on me & not taking responsibility of his own acti& is being a shit head about the financial stuff, I find that as a betrayal as he isn't being reasonable... there is nothing I can do... but again I need to change my frame of mind of feeling shit about it & look for the positives. If these people who have done me wrong... its their problem, they aren't gud people, if they were gud, they wudnt act the way they did... no one has the right to nake u feel less than u are or treat u badly...

Life is too short to be wasting it with the likes of the types that backstab, and betray.

I try to understand it, initially. Understanding is important to me. I don't immediately place judgement on them and write them off as unworthy. No-one is a saint.

Betrayal doesn’t deserve forgiveness. If they did it once, they will do it again. I’d cut them loose.

I remember the last time it happened I was in college and made a post on Facebook about it 😂. They later wrote to me and apologized.
I was so dramatic back then. And now we’re on good terms.

They quickly become a former friend. But happily, that really hasn’t happened since high school.

That's so rare in my neighbourhood that it hasn't happened to me yet.

I let them know what I think of them then leave them alone.

I am excellent at burning bridges and not looking back.

Hasn't happened but I wouldn't trust them again.
I may forgive them but they won’t hear from me again.

Depends on how malicious I perceive it to have been...

Cut ties. It's easy. No fights or confrontation. And hey, years later, I'm still Facebook friends with him, which is as far as I'll get.

I cut them out of my life. Move on and use the anger as fuel when I'm working out or training.
