Has your job ruined anything for you?

I work in a flower nursery and take care of plants. Now I've been doing this a year, when I go to someone's house, the first thing I notice are houseplants. I pluck them. I see a picture with flowers, I have to know what they are. The first thing I notice about a house is the window boxes. I can't just enjoy flowers anymore. I have this obsession with needing to know what they are and making sure they're properly maintained.

I have worked a lot in hotel front office where a lot of things happen at the same time. One time at home I noticed I was feeding the dog, making dinner doing laundry and loading the dishwasher. Instead of just finishing one thing my comfort zone became doing multiple things at once!
after recognizing this I am smarter about it all, but I know what you mean.

@OKWTF2: Oh man, yes! This is me too. If I'm doing nothing at home (aka relaxing) I just hear my boss's voice in my head telling me I'm not being efficient enough.

That sucks about you not enjoying flowers. Is that the same with flower avatars here?

Yeah. I was a lot more open to people and strangers but with my line of work you get a bit more savvy and cautious for safety reasons. It sucks but hey, that's the world we have.

@beaisforbliss: I just work with clients from all walks of life. Generally they're good people but some are super street smart and cunning.

it's kinda like that for me too but i work with articles and papers, and in everything i read, i notice the misplaced commas, prepositions, and what not. 🤣🤣
