I can truly say that all my early working years I spent spending over one hour's pay to get myself to work and back. I'm sure a LOT of people spend that sort of percentage getting to and from work.

learn to drive

@TheCoolestCat: LOL ... Here in the UK it's more cost-effective to either carpool or take your car to the nearest station and travel by train or tram. It's currently $6.58 for ONE gallon of fuel here.

i live in the uk aswel, no idea what a gallon is its like £1.17 per litre for diesel atm £60 to fill up my tank which will do me for a month of just commuting to work and back compared to £4 a day for the bus (£80 a month), where i have to sit and listen to about 50 other smelly fuckers for 45 mins twice each day.... think id rather drive, i havent got a bus in 6 years tbh

Well unless you're working long days the math doesn't make it sound any better. But if there's a chances for advancement, or to learn something valuable down the road then that could weigh in on your decision.

7.20 bus fares not bad, you make that back in your first hours work. I'd do the $10 an hour job
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
I'd rather make $10 than 9 any day. That's ridiculous not to take the extra money.

@dreamingofoz: Actually only $4. Assume an 8 hour day. $1 difference in pay is $8 daily. Subtract bus fare leaves you with a positive of .80. Times a 5 day work week is $4. So there would need to be other perks.

@dreamingofoz: Nevermind, I see that you subtracted the bus fare after. Guess I need to work on reading comprehension. :)
Eck...maybe just go with the 9 dollar an hour one...a shorter commute is worth the 40 bucks a week.
