is it ok?

Just curious, it is ok to apply in multiple positions in one company?

Also, I am still rendering my 30day resignation notice...

Should I write (for example) January 2016-present or January-February2017 on my resume?

When I applied to work where I am now, in a US government office, they scheduled 4 interviews in the building, each for a separate position in a separate program. Then a fifth guy asked if I wanted to work for him, and we had an unscheduled interview right on the spot! So I had five positions to choose from. I chose the guy who I sensed was more relaxed and would not cause me problems. For instance, one guy expected me to take classes to increase my skills. It sounded like a lot of work outside of business hours, so I eliminated him. Another guy looked like he did not enjoy his job, so I eliminated him. And so on. One guy said I would be doing mostly production work, whereas another guy said I would mostly be doing research. So I chose research.

I did not think too deeply about the type of work, as long as it was math. I never thought I would be there for that long. Well, 18 years later I am still here! The guy who hired me left after 10 years for a better job, and then retired a few years later. My current boss will retire in a few years, and his current boss retires on Friday! But I do not want to be a boss, so I will not try to move in when he retires. No, just give me some neat math to do, and leave me alone to do it! Keep the annoying federal bureaucracy off my back and let me do some math! LOL! (said by a person who is part of said bureaucracy!)

But if you think you might want to work where I do, fagetabouit! Trump just instituted a 90 day hiring freeze! And after they plan to reduce the workforce by only hiring one person for every 2 to 3 who leave. Fun times! And more work for me! Ugh.
In my country's last election, there was also a ban on hiring/firing/etc on govt employees for a few months... Shouldn't they hire the same number of persons to the number of those who leave?

They should at least replace those who leave and retire, but Trump's goal is to shrink government. If so, then I wish he could do it by eliminating programs and tasks, and not by trying to get us all to do the same amount of work with less staff. At some point things will have to be skipped. I am a little worried because I am already quite busy. I had to work a few 9 and 10 hour days last week and this week. Normally I work 8 hours. But a deadline is a deadline. I made it on time, and so will cut back on work hours the rest of this week. We have a flexible schedule so I can do it. Nobody cares when I work (yet I must do it between 6AM and 8PM M-F) as long as I get my work done on time.

The fewer breaks in employment the better. Thus, use "the present".
Thank you.

If you're still employed, choose the present option.

And yeah..it's perfectly acceptable to apply for multiple positions..as long as they're not like Receptionist vs Vice President ;)
Noted. Thank you so much.
