the toxic work environment I came into
This issue was resolved but when I first came to my job I came into a toxic environment.
Basically what happened was that I came in as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and this made people jealous and a little bit angry.
Of course being a new employee I wouldn't know EXACTLY all the company specific processes so when I fucked them up people were harder on me than normal because of the word senior in my job title.
There was even some dude who was def in mid 50s who had my same job title and he was the most pissed off and even purposely trying to sabotage my work.
He was also buddies with the manager so they were both trying to fuck my ass.
Eventually my manager tried to put me on a Performance Improvement Plan, which basically means you are fired at the end. So I scheduled meetings with HR and his boss to explain what was happening. Afterwards these people backed off.
Even in fact that old guy was moved shortly afterwards to another team and that manager was replaced although I don't know if that was because of my actions or not. Might have been coincidental.
