Instead of going round in circles trying to explain something basic for the 100th time I lied and said I had to go to back to back meetings and they could email me anything else they need. It felt good.
I am curious about something - how come sometimes managers practically beg (or sometimes actually beg) some employees not to quit? I have been begged a few times and I am never even that important.
@HoochieTheClown I can only speak for where I work but I’d guess it’s because attrition looks bad. HR requires us to have a “stay conversation” and document it if there are no obvious performance issues.
@Notladylike At my last job they had a laundry list of things I was supposedly doing wrong but on the day I announced it would be my last, throughout my shift, the manager over our dept kept asking if I was sure I wanted to leave.
It was just we*rd because it was basically an unskilled job. Maybe they didn't want me to leave because I I never created drama and my attendance was excellent. Not perfect but very few attendance occurrences.
