Ideas of how to organise a MacBook

I have a few fields of work, my art, my various physical trainings, my writings, inspirational material, etc...

Do you have any tips or ideas...

I mean it should be as obvious as make different folders for each, but somehow it isn't to me and things begin to accumulate and I am in need of a good archiving mechanism and structure!

Never store anything directly in domain folders. Always pass through Inbox. Keep It Simple Rule -> Put it in Inbox, Decide later.

So your workflow becomes:
Capture → goes to Inbox
Process → move to Active / Ideas / Archive
Work → from Active
Finish → move to Archive

Once a week (20–30 min):
Empty Inbox
Move things to correct places
Delete useless stuff
Rename messy files
Promote good ideas → Active

This prevents buildup — the real enemy.

You might also require project based layers for bigger projects.

@ABCDEF7 WOW!!!
I cannot express my gratitude for this one idea, I love the idea of having that {Inbox}
from where all later flow through other directions.

Simplicity IS the key so many times, and yet, to reach that simplicity takes work.
Thank you, I am very grateful for this 🙏🏼 and for all the layout you have given me here as to how to work afterwards around it.

I find this was my main leaking, the variety of sources. I will place them all in one place now.

@ABCDEF7 I am now debating whether Inbox need to have those categories inside, or can be just this open space, from where I will draw from weekly, as I will be moving things to correct places.

It might take a little longer then, but since when I am bringing in new materials sometimes in a creative artistic trance, it is easier if I just have one place to lay them, and return to my creative space. I am contemplating on that one.
