Personally I think it's a great admission that whatever they've told us to comply with over the last forty years has turned out to be a massive failure.
Socially; politically and economically...use any metric you want.
Governments of both colours are more irrelevant today than ever before. No matter who you vote for.
But god forbid you describe yourself as independent.
God forbid you work as a Teacher; Social worker; EMT; Nurse etc....you know. Somebody who actually makes society better no matter how stupid a thing self inflicted you did.
And I have no sympathy whatsoever for career politicians; religious leaders and money market folk.
Their constant gerrymandering of rules and laws they imposed on the rest of us yet sidestepped themselves, constantly...for generations, leaves a vacuum where trust; hope and faith ought to sit.

I'm still young and don't plan on dying anytime soon.
But at the end of my life when I'm looking back on everything I wish I'd done sooner or more often, I'm pretty sure "working harder" won't be on that list ✌

Modern day concepts of work are really warmed over rationaluzed old day concepts of slavery, and it changed to keep it going and disguise it as if this were freedom, its exact opposite, mind u I realize stuff must get done and regular people sort themselves out for their best skills that get used...and stuff gets done. Our lives could be really free once our minds are....slavery begins with blind acceptance of the soothing lies and short lived ego boost from getting hired somewhere...egggggadddddd!

Slavery never ceased in the West. It just changed its appearance.
We are slaves of our work. We all participate in the rat race.
I agree 💯 to everything you wrote and feel the same way.
The only consolation is that at some stage we can retire.

Men need a purposeful life. For some it’s their job that gives them purpose .
