I kinda want to let the retail job go and just do caregiving...

All week I do this beautiful, rewarding and meaningful work, then I go to the retail job and get treated like a stupid piece of human garbage 😂

On Friday I'm being praised and thanked, then on Saturday I'm being abused by twenty year olds who can't figure out how to schedule lunch breaks.

I'm thinking about job hoping weekend jobs for discounts. If crap is going to be unaffordable, and these retail employers just use you, why not use them for discounts?

I'm pretty tired of being treated like a ding dong without any benefit 😂 if rich people can play the system, then so should the peasants.

Caregiving is so rewarding. I started when I was like 20 or something? You make the same or more depending than retail, and yeah, you don't get treated like garbage. There's so much to love about it... you are the perfect candidate to be a caregiver so I'm so glad you found it. You're empathetic, nurturing, caring, loving, etc etc and more than capable. You should look into going private (I'm just assuming you aren't currently sry if wrong). Can make waaay more $. 💛

@Notsimilarreally thank you! I'm doing it privately right now, for a 99 year old couple. I make $30 an hour. I go 3 hours in the AM and 3 hours in the PM which isn't always great but it still works for everyone. I think they might even like for me to work on the weekends. It is SO rewarding for me! It's not always easy, they both have Alzheimer's but they're tough ol birds lol I learn so much from them. I'm thinking of doing some more training and seeing what it takes to continue doing this in the future. I definitely found my thing and I'm so tired of going to the retail job and feeling so out of place and underestimated.

@ScreamingFox perfect I'm really glad to hear you're private. Companies rip off the worker big time, most of them. I actually loved working with Alzheimer's usually, sometimes they are violent but when they're not, and they're positive, you get some hilarious times. This woman I took care of for about a year until she passed was the cutes, funniest old thing! Her grandkids would give her pot gummies and she would get even funnier. We were watching tv and she's super stoned and she's like, "do we know these people?" Idk you had to know her but it was the cutest funniest thing. She weighed like 80lbs and I'd carry her like a baby. Miss her! But then I had this one Alzheimer's patient, and the family really wanted me to get her to shower. She was a laaarge, feisty old Irish woman and she DID NOT WANT TO SHOWER! She charged me like a bull and it was terrifying. She stank too, from not showering, lol. 😆

My last caregiving job was through a friend, for a rich old blind man. (Also was not a shower type of guy lol). No memory problems but mobility and sight. I made 1200$ a week and was live in, so no bills. But eventually one day I came out of my room and he was right there and started masturbating as soon as he heard me come out 😒 lol.

I could tell you tons of stories 😆

Really glad you are feeling valued, and enjoying yourself. You deserve that SO MUCH! Keep at it, I know this is right for you.

@Notsimilarreally oh the last guy 😂 it's weird how Alzheimer's affects people and the fixations they have. This 99 year old couple will argue about sex and I have to walk away and find something else to do it's so uncomfortable.

Thank you. It definitely feels right compared to other jobs I've had and the pay is very nice.
