Something I've been stewing over.

At my last place of work I made a suggestion to a coworker—this suggestion being something that I used to do at a place of the same job field but more specialized. Meaning, they never just told anyone in a tough situation, "Sorry, that's someone else's job, good luck finding them" and instead just took the task into their own hands and fixed it or took the blame if they messed it up.

But here, at this more "dollar store" brand place, the suggestion didn't land well with my coworker (who claimed to have worked a similar job before) and he intentionally repeated it in front of a manager who didn't like me. The manager looked at me and said, "No. You'll lose your job, to be frank." They both just intentionally put me down.

I didn't say anything in response. Should have just said what I said here. 'Sorry, I used to work at a real shop where people fixed real problems instead of telling someone in need to go away.'

I didn't say that. Why. Lol

You were trying to bring initiative and integrity into a place that clearly just wanted to coast. It’s honestly their loss for not recognizing that.
