I've had a very odd day

It's starting to get very busy for me at work. I was in a 9am meeting and I got a call from my HR manager. I declined the call and emailed her and told her I was in a meeting until 10am but would call her afterword's. She told me she would give me a call. Of course then I spent the next hour wondering why HR was calling me. She finally did call me and it was very awkward. She asked me how it was going and I said good, and then she just came out with it and said she saw that I was on a job board and is concerned I am looking for another job and is there anything they can do to make me more happy so I don't leave. I thought this was very strange, I mean I've been on these job boards pretty much for the last decade I mean everybody is even when they have jobs. It came off a little paranoid to me, I told her yes I go on there but mostly I do as I am helping my son look for a different job right now. I told her I am not unhappy at my job. She said she was glad, then got off the phone with me. About 30 minutes later I get an email from her with my boss cc'd saying that they decided to give me a raise because I am a valuable member of the team and they don't want to lose me. I was shocked to say the least, I am still a little shocked because that wasn't even brought up on our call. We normally only get raises in April. The only thing I can think of is it spooked her so much to see my resume there that they got scared I was actually going to leave. I am not complaining getting a raise when you didn't even think you could or ask for one is pretty nice. It just is weird, and now I am wondering if they expect me to remove myself from these job boards. I don't know just kind of surprised. On top of that I am sick and I almost called out sick because my head is so bad right now. According to my smart watch I got 53 minutes of sleep last night. So I guess I am just wondering if I am still dreaming.

It does come off as spooked to lose you, so the raise seems her way of giving you incentive to stay. Glad you are happy in your position, however, remember one thing: No one anywhere in the workforce is irreplicable. Kudos on toughing it out at work when under the weather.
