The scary part about this agency

that hired me to assist my blind guy has yet to do a background check or even ask for references. I never even had an in person interview with them.
What kind of agency does that??
My advice to you is that if you ever have to trust someone else to take care of your loved ones, make damn sure you have proof that the caregiver has been investigated.
It's not like hiring some random contractor to replace your flooring or something, this is hiring someone to ensure the safety and wellbeing of very vulnerable people ffs.

That IS scary. Through my experience with health care workers, I learned that 90% are acceptable. 5% are angels and 5% are demons.

@Tumbleweed We assume that such agencies are founded to provide help. They’re not, by and large. Somebody sees a way to make money and niggling little details like background checks are expensive. Why not just wing it until the cops arrive?
