I've seen some business owners put it this way...
Employees don't work for them, but instead, they, they business owners, work for the employees... why?
Because if you keep the good employees happy, then they make you money! So get good employees in the door, and figure out how to keep them in the door, and you'll keep making more money.
Clearly that's oversimplified, but I was surprised by the logic and they had a point.
