My boss just overwhelmed me with a lot of unexpected information.
He came back and began chatting with me and my coworker. During our conversation, he brought up my great-uncle, with whom he used to work. Then he asked me if my dad was deceased since I don’t know that side of my family very well. He remarked that I resemble my last name because I have brown eyes, blonde hair, and a love for dogs. He noted that, as he got to know me better, he recognized many of the same mannerisms in me that my great-uncle had.
Then he said, “This might creep Skeet out, but we were going to name our daughter your name.” I laughed and asked if it was spelled the same way, to which he replied yes, which was unusual since it typically isn't. I playfully asked him if he didn't like my name, and he explained that they had a miscarriage and that their daughter would have been the same age as me. (He now has 7 adopted children). He mentioned that this is why he feels so close to me, and it’s not just because he is an old man who flirts. He then shared the middle name they had chosen, which happens to be the same as mine.
I feel weird.
