There was this guy at work who said I have an accent and that I should have a better accent do I care?

He also said that it's not a perfect accent and should be since I'm an immigrant from bosnia and that my bosnian friends don't have accents, he says a person from another place being raised in USA culture shouldn't have an accent given how long they lived there saying I have a deep voice that's why I have an accent even though I thought I speak good english
