I once worked in an office block where every floor looked the same. Sometimes, when I escorted people to the elevator, they'd say goodbye and the doors would close. I'd then run down to the lower floor and press the button so the elevator stopped there, then when the door opened they'd see me still standing there and think the elevator was jammed and hadn't moved.
