I remember hearing people talk about going for job interviews and being told that they were “overqualified” for the job. Instead of giving the person who needed a job at the moment a chance they refused to hire them. I think they thought it would be just a stepping stone job for the applicant and they’d move on quickly instead of sticking with the job.

I took all of the orientation very seriously but the people who succeeded at the job I quit didn't follow through with any of it.
