I'm gonna "dumb down" my resume and see if that gets me a job

I remember hearing people talk about going for job interviews and being told that they were “overqualified” for the job. Instead of giving the person who needed a job at the moment a chance they refused to hire them. I think they thought it would be just a stepping stone job for the applicant and they’d move on quickly instead of sticking with the job.

Why don't you decide what you're good at and go for it?

@iamnikki Sorry for trying to understand your situation. You're on your own.

@SW-User notice though...the fact that my original post is not a question...

I was not/am not looking for anyone to understand the situation.

@iamnikki No more job search updates then.

Simple is best.

I took all of the orientation very seriously but the people who succeeded at the job I quit didn't follow through with any of it.

@starbucksgirly lower pay is better than being miserable doing something that you don't want to do.

@iamnikki I had made a similar career move last year but now they are shutting down my store. :/
