Are there any social workers here?

I was looking at the requirements for me to get a MSW.
I've been out of school so long now that it would take me 3 years to get a MSW.
I'm just wondering if it would even be worth it...

Before you come telling me that social workers "don't make any money", I've seen plenty of job posts for social workers paying 55k and up, and where I live, that is great.

You get better jobs with that degree I’m sure. So many without it end up working for the Department of Human Services and they hate it. Have heard some comments.

@FreestyleArt My nephew’s wife knew her neighbor who was a DHS child protective services social worker and she said she had remarked that she hated children and never wanted to have one. This was after me telling her about one in my city that had gotten arrested for drunk driving here. Someone else told me they’ll hire the social workers who can’t get jobs anywhere else, the dregs.

@cherokeepatti Yea, I just really need to find someone who is currently a social worker. I want to talk to someone about the workload and day to day aspect of it
