My job pays well for what it is but it's also so freaking stressful. Half the time I'm out in that garage by myself, serving an entire community of people, most of whom don't understand it's just me, and they're always shocked and want an explanation when I tell them the wait time will be long.
My boss, God knows why, spends all his time in other branches and usually has no idea what's going on out here. If a customer gets upset because one guy doesn't provide the manpower and expectations of a whole crew, my boss blames me. I try to get him to understand but he just doesn't.
And when I'm not by myself, I'm with my asshat of a coworker who constantly interrupts my work to try to tell me what to do and tell me that what I'm doing is wrong, or even just interrupt me to do something irrelevant, no matter how many times the boss tells him to leave me alone, or even if I tell him myself, he just doesn't get it. Or he sends out group texts INCLUDING my boss about how when I left the day before, the shop wasn't clean enough for his liking. He just finds any chance he can to throw me under the bus. But he thinks he's the best coworker in the world because he says good morning to me when I come in.
I'm one person and I'm expected to do the work of a whole crew and customers, my boss, and my own dumbass coworker don't understand that.
I'm staying in this position because it's the best choice I have, believe it or not.
