I've been hearing that AI would replace programmers "any time now" pretty much every day for the past 20 years. What we have now are advanced and glorified search algorithms, that are fairly good at putting together some very simple code for very simple and known problems, but that's about it.

Besides, if/when it gets advanced enough to replace programmers you can rest assured that welders would've already been replaced by said AI a long time before.

I've been hearing for decades how "no-code" is the future. To this day I need to see a no-code platform deliver half as decent an optimized website I can do with JavaScript and a decent library or framework.
