Once you work remotely, there’s no going back to the old office life

It was painful going back to the office after lockdown. I loved working from home. I didn't get fully dressed for like four months straight

There's no desire to go back. That was my experience. But retirement even bests remote work.

There was a large change, most people spent teams calls naked or half dressed.
Back in the office we had to get used to clothes and these things on our feet called shoes.

I’m doing it and I’m loving it . At first I didn’t like it because I liked going to work and dressing up and all that but now I’m very comfortable working from home. I can sleep more and I think that’s the part I like most about it 😌.

Looking to return to the high tech field. Worked from home the last 20 years. Going to the office? If I have to. Seems to be the thing now, or hybrid

Agree. Still have to do the work, and it's not right for everyone, but for some it's the only way to fly.

So true but then the building owners weren't making money and the companies starting forcing workers back into the buildings.

I agree. I’ve worked remotely most of my life. Currently, my office is the whole southeast United States.

Well, until your boss says come back or lose your job.

Aww.... only so sympathetic, though. There are many currently in this world who can't work from home who receive low raises, but it's been good cover in the news and social media, not how corporations are making record profit, or how their employees are being stiffed, but about can they work from home?

That's the only reason employers are going for it.

After working from home since 1 January 2002..... I can't imagine EVER going back to an office (although TBH, I have a home office...)

I have been remote since the pandemic. They may force us back at least half-time eventually. The issue has been delayed since we are moving office locations (planned since before the pandemic). My commute would worse, the neighborhood sucks, and I became disabled last year, making it hard to walk. Maybe I could get a special accommodation.

Until you enroll your daughter in private school, which is located pretty close to your place of work and then you stay at the office until it's time to pick her up, which saves a lot of time over driving to and from home twice a day, yes, there's no going back.
