If you had your dream job what would it be?

@HumanEarth you gotta have a lot of land and a real big operation to get rich from out. How big a piece you working?

I grow ginseng and I grow 5 acres a year. 5 acres don't sound like a lot, but many growers only one forth of a acres a year. I am considered a medium size ginseng grower.

Ginseng takes 3 to 5 years to grow before it's ready for harvest and market.

Been doing this for just over 20 years now.

Plus we also have our livestock

@HumanEarth yeah, I know zero about ginseng. ha ha. we were ranchers and my Da’s land is just over 400 acres, but you have to have a lot of land for cattle too, so you can rotate them for grazing.

The crappy part about ginseng is. It can only be grown once in the same place. So it can't be part of crop rotations like other standard type crops like oats, rye and corn

@HumanEarth oh wow. I had no idea.

So I rent land when I can so I conserve mine when virgin ginseng land gets harder to find.

Oh I rent mine I land out if I become to old or retire if my kids don't take over
