I have always stayed until the chaos settles.
Had months of late nights and early mornings, buying in pizza to keep my assistant and myself going.
All down to bad coding by a manufacturer. Servers just couldn't deal with the rubbish on the network.
Everyday is a school day.

It will still be there when you return. When I worked in health care, I would occasionally glance at the clocks. Some days time flew. Other times it dragged. The last hour? That's when things would really go to shit. People would crash. Need a code called. Revive with CPR and all the meds. To ICU if they made it. If not, to the morgue. Patients transferred in that last 30 minutes were mostly poor. So they dumped them. And try to handle an unstable patient end of your shift. No overtime unless you begged for it. You needed verbal permission from an idiot manager during a crisis to save a life and to get paid. Fuckers. I do not miss that. It is chaos and abuse in health care. Always will be. Pity those still costing them their emotional and physical well-being. Nice to see you, friend. How's your summer?

@PoetryNEmotion I've only heard a lot of horror stories about what goes on in health care. Especially when covid first hit, the description I heard was a nightmare.

Overall, I'm well. Thanks. I've got plans to get a few things rolling. How are you this summer.
@caPnAhab It was worse before covid. Now it just speeds like a runaway train. It is all about money. People are just numbers to those in managerial positions. People need to value their health more. Prevent. Maintain. Being a patient in a hospital can be severe or existing as a prisoner in a nursing home is beyond words. Only those who work in them truly know. The public may see the absolute tip of an iceberg. What they don't see is...they would never believe.

I am busy gardening. Hiking. Working full-time nights out of town. I drive a lot. By the time this assignment ends likely in November, I will be ready for the winter off of work. I spin poetry daily. Write horror stories. Still working on producing them for two books. I hope for a vacation in July or in August. Second one of my lifetime. Excited. Thank you.

I would be running out there and not looking back…can always hear about what happened later from other employees.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@cherokeepatti I'm glad just to get out before being sucked back into the vortex

It happens some times where i work. Night shift vs days. We have to clean up each others messes some times.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@Confined we can tell when the night crew struggles. When we clean up their mess in the morning. Samething vice versa night crew with us, the morning
SW-User

@SW-User who would make you do such a thing?? 😱
SW-User

caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@SW-User Oh true, I try to fight the chaos. But I let boss know I had things to do

When things get massively overwhelming there's only so much you can do.

Been there done that more times than I care to say.

When we just couldn't get enough drivers to haul the trash away, we often had to let people dump on the ground.

We had to clean it up afterwards sometimes by shovel. Because our equipment broke down as well.

Oh I have been there quite a few times. I would be getting ready to leave and they're coming in "No! You got to stay!" and it's like "Oh hell no I'm leaving! I already saw what fell around and smashed up and I am not picking up the pieces bye-bye!!"
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Haha that’s funny
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@iamonfire696 nah! It'll be fine. Boss said it was fine to leave, and they're pretty chill.

Doesn't feel good, leaving like that
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@caPnAhab I am glad it will be okay. Your shift was done though. Don’t feel bad 💜
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@iamonfire696 thanks. It just goes that way sometimes
