More cases of customers not being specific enough.
Two days ago a customer asked me, "Do you have any discounts?" I asked, What kind of discount? He looked at me like it was an unnecessary question and said, "...A discount."
Today, a customer called... mind you, I work in automotive. He said, "Do you guys have lamp posts?" I was confused what he meant so I asked, Lamp posts... Like at the end of your lawn?
"No."
...You mean an overhead lamp for the interior of your car?
"No. I mean like one that goes at the end of your driveway. You don't know what a lamp post is? Okay."
I explained to him that's what I meant by at the end of your lawn, AND I explained that he was calling an automotive store... Both of those things don't really require explaining but I did it anyway, even after he insulted me. 😑
Please, people, when you ask an employee a question, be ready to describe what you mean. And also look up the definition of "the curse of knowledge."
