How do I connect with my manager?

He's always rushing around and mostly says one-word sentences. There's this one employee there who's also his friend, and he's the only person he actually stands around and talks with. It's the only time I don't see him fast-walking and talking business.

I've mostly just been giving him space because I don't want to irritate him. But I want to find a way to get him to like me as an employee or at least communicate that he likes me as an employee.

There’s probably a lot of turnovers at your job. Where people come and go and you don’t see the point of connecting or small talk with someone who is eventually gonna quit .. let him see that you are worth his time by your performance and maybe you’ll get a “how bout those cowboys”?? Then you will say “they still suck” and start the cycle back all over again 🙂
