Weird experience at work.
Three days ago I was supposed to train someone. They started out doing a written test on the employee handbook which outlines customer service. I noticed they took an unusually long time doing the test. But, I thought, some people just take longer than others.
Eventually, she handed the paper to me. The first thing I noticed was that one answer hadn't been filled out. I politely pointed it out and gave her more time to finish. Again, she took a really long time to do it, and most of her time was spent just staring at the paper and not writing anything.
She handed it to me again. I started to review it. The manager came in and said he would review it instead of me, which is not normal. But I said okay and handed it to him.
Later, he looked visibly upset and told me to send the trainee home. I approached her and said, I'm sorry but I was asked to send you home. She seemed totally unfazed, said, "I know" and stood in the bar area for awhile. Idk what she was doing but I had customers to seat so it didn't matter.
The next day, another manager told me that half the answers on her test weren't filled out (despite her taking a very long time to complete it) and the answers that were filled out, weren't even remotely correct. Both managers seemed almost offended by whatever was written there.
This person just gave me strange vibes, hardly spoke, seemed apathetic to everything, and I'm pretty sure it was also a guy? I'm confused.
