Was loving what you did for a living more important than loving a person at one point in your life?

At a young age I recall being very preoccupied with the notion of being a careerist and wanting to be extremely passionate about whatever I did to earn a living...even moreso than I was about being a wife or someone's mother. Have you ever experienced such feeling?

I’ve never felt that way. A job to me is just a way to make needed money. I think it’s hard to love anything you have to do.
