Have you ever been fired? What did you do?

I worked at a cell phone warehouse many years ago.
We were producing the latest Iphone at the time.
The rules were that you processed 1 box of phones at a time.

I had 1 box at my station, with phones in it .

A major jam happened with the machinery in the warehouse. It was taking quite a while for them to fix it.

They told us to stop what we were doing and take a 1 hour lunch (so they could fix the jam). So I left the things at my station and went to lunch.

I came back from lunch, went to my station and my box of phones were gone. I thought maybe someone packed them up for me so I continued working.

Then HR came and escorted me out.
I hated the dam job anyway😂.

I remember coming home super early from work, like 1pm.

Mom was like, why are you here?
I said I got fired. She said no you didn't .

Next day she asked me why I was home before her.

Me: I told you I got fired yesterday 😆

I got fired once for the same reason you did, i was set up.
But with me though, my new boss wanted to replace me with a hot woman from another department. Our laws don't allow people to be fired for no reason so he had to create one. So he started altering my work when i was at lunch or had gone home. Then he'd warn me that i'd lose my job if i didn't improve. A month later i was replaced by his hot woman. I heard from someone else that she never did any work and they had to hire someone else to help her.

@iamnikki Sorry i didn't mean it like that, my guess with you is that someone stole your phone, which the way i see it was being set up to take the fall because your boss didn't put any effort in to working out what really happened.

@SW-User we were not supposed to leave material (phones) out on our station. But we were told specifically to stop what we were doing and leave for lunch. I had every intention on finishing the box of I think 6 phones when I got back but they were gone lol. So idk if they were in fact stolen or if management took them and fired the person (me) who left it out or what

@iamnikki The thing was, you were following their exact directions to stop what you were doing and leave. If you had dealt with the 6 phones you would have not been following directions, so that's why i see you as being set up, even if it was unintentional. It's the managements responsibility to make their directions clear to you and take responsibility if those directions create any issues.

@SW-User true. If I wanted the job, I would have told them that I was just following directions. But since I hated it and warehouse work in general, I left without causing a scene

@iamnikki That's good, at least you left a bad job. I think it's as hard to find a decent job as it is to find a decent relationship. There's plenty available and most end with one person throwing things and the other kicking them out.

@iamnikki I can totally relate. I find living where i live has me feeling the same about people too.
