Why do some countries celebrate only well paying careers?

Why do some counties only have holidays or celebrations for well paying careers like medicine and administrative? People who work in construction and other tough labor jobs should also be celebrated for their work. I noticed people in thoes European countries the doctors and nurses are very full of themselves they think that they are better than everyone else just because their job saves lives. Every one is equally important in maintaining the society so even if your job does not save a life does not mean it is less important. I think if you celebrate a career you should celebrate all of them or none at all.
