How to get over someone who doesn't think you're good enough for them and shows you that repeatedly?

I've written my master thesis under a supervision of a professor and I've wished to make a PhD in his group, but he didn't take me. I've found another PhD and after one year, my former professor offered me to change to his group but then again changed his mind after 2 months.

I was kinda sad that he didn't take me as his PhD student back then, and I don't know what to think about his action with the offer... I will pursue my original PhD program which is fine, but still...

How to deal with the situation? I'm thinking about 2 options:

I think option 2 is more logical, but I'm kinda going for the option 1 as it might push me harder and go out of my comfort zone... I know he doesn't care what I do but as it happens my dream job would be at his former university (which is the best one in the country) and I already established the first contact to their faculty thanks to my current PhD program.

But I'm still kinda sad cause I think under his supervision my PhD would turn out better.
