Should i cut my hair for interviews?

At 23 and only with a community college certificate in business i'm very underqualified and am getting nowhere with job interviews. My mother says i don't have the "corporate look" due to my long curly brown hair and i'm starting to doubt my appearance. Should i get a haircut? What should i do?

I like my hair, it'd make me pass as a girl. Workwise, i just have no idea if its worth keeping

Tie it back or put it up. If you like your hair keep it. Just make it neat.
@SW-User i have tied it back since early-2018 and keep it generally neat, i just don't know what potential employers think about a lovely young man with curly brown locks, even tied back

just make sure it is tidy and looks good. How are you handling things AFTER the interview. I own 10 companies and I find most people dont do thank you cards, follow up etc. It is key!
@Drewman i'll do all you said sweetie from here on out, very good advice, thank you

@Dogemilataka happy to help in any way I can
@Drewman thank you sweetie

It’s sad that appearance plays such a big part but shoulder-length should be the cutoff for interviews. Beyond that just dress sharply, believe in yourself and walk in confident.
@slobound my hair is shoulder-length when untied, unfortunately it doesn't grow much longer then that. I try to keep up appearances and be dressed smart casually, but yeah, couple of interviews and little else since

Tie your hair back, wear a suit with good shoes, learn about your prospective employer so you can answer questions.Don't speak to fast.
@tallpowerhouseblonde everything you said i got to perfect on

who cares? some guy told me i had to cut my hair before he would hire me, i told him in no uncertain terms to fuck himself

@TheCoolestCat He was being sexist. You could ask if he ever asked a woman to cut her hair before he would hire her, then threaten legal action.
@TheCoolestCat i can't be impolite, just in case someone passes it up or a spot becomes available

Ponytail and job with computers :)
@meJess computers? I agree with a ponytail, its the way to go as a young man or the girl i really am, but do what in or with computers?

@Dogemilataka Does it matter if they pay you, spreadsheets or something. At least you have a start
@meJess i was thinking about going from company to company and approaching representatives and offering myself up as a volunteer, i just ain't so sure how to go about it@meJess
