When do you know you have the job?

If you have just had a job interview this week and your referee for that job has been asked to provide a reference for you, does that pretty much mean that you have got the job?

Should I be expecting a phone call in the next few days in the form of a job offer?

@SW-User they got in touch with the referee today. It's a facilities management position.

I didn’t think they ever did, never in my case but I’ve not applied for a job in about 16 years...
