Would you confront this guy?

So I have a coworker[A] who refuses to talk to me and gets others to ask for supplies he needs. His proxy [B] came by my office today with a printout from Amazon of a computer cable [A] wanted and said '[A] wanted me to ask you to order this.' I said 'so he sent you?'. He said 'yes, I think he's afraid of you.' After [B] left, I threw that piece of paper in the trash. If [A] needs it, he can ask me himself. I thought about going to him and telling him communication doesn't work that way, and ask what his problem with me is, but then I thought why waste my time on that fool?

I’d tell his proxy that you don’t bite, A is free to ask for himself. I wouldn’t take it personally.
@bijouxbroussard Thanks. Two other coworkers told me they said that to [A] before, and that they don't understand why he behaves that way.

I overheard my colleague across the hall tell the proxy not to relay [A]'s messages again.

Ultimately, it says more about him than it does about me.
