Coworkers always cry out of no where when I work with them.

It’s always awkward, because it’s usually my first time meeting them. The woman I was working with tonight mentioned how she use to be a teacher, and then it some how went to her mom dying a few years back, and then her getting a divorce, and a whole bunch of other personal stuff. 😬 it’s out of no where they start telling me a whole bunch of personal stuff when first meeting them, and then they start crying 😬😬😬. I always try to look sympathetic, but I can’t relate to any of their situations like divorce so I’m just like “....that sucks”

Definitely a way to make an awkward person even more awkward around you. Lol

@LucyFuhr 😂😂😂
Remind her that the workplace isn't a counselling service
@BeefySenpie 😅 you’re so harsh beefy
@Stark I made a promise on @SW-User post to not censor myself, so I should stick to that for at least 24 hours 😈

They are drawn to your energy. You should see the complete strangers that approach me with crazy secrets when I'm out and about.

It is an uncomfortable compliment. 😨

@Stark I'm telling ya. I plan extra time for shit like this all the time 😅
@Peaceful that’s too exhausting.
Peaceful · F
@Stark it is. But it's happened for so long, I plan for it.

Are they white. Not to be rude but i get this a lot with white women. i thought it was just a cultural thing to be dumping personal info on strangers & crying all the time😬
@Selah 😂 yes

Yep. Find this a lot in the caring professions.
You rock up to work; keep your head down and crack on and the person assigned to work with you decides you're the guy they need to offload on.
Some people just want someone to listen to them. You seem like a good listener with compassion. But after you listen to them, steer the conversation to something pleasant.

Stop looking sympathetic!!! People really have no right to do that to others it's selfish
SW-User
@Stark that's what I mean!!
@SW-User oh sorry I misunderstood. Lol I agree.

@Stark 🙂

That must be exhausting 😩
@MellyMel22 I’m just shocked every single time it happens, and I never know what to do about it. I just feel bad for not knowing what to say and for how shitty their life is. 😂
MellyMel22 · F
@Stark Well they opened themselves up to it, but they may just be good opening up and letting it out 😆
