What was your first job?

@easterniowegin I started at 14. Did your bales have wire or string?

@Funtoy4u everyone used string. But they weighed almost as much as I. Lol

@easterniowegin I baled straw and hay. Hay was heavier but straw was itchier. Most had string but 1 had wire and they cut into your hands if you didn't have heavy gloves. I was in high school wrestling so I thought it was great to be paid to work out. And it was a huge work out.

@Funtoy4u Yep, straw was so much lighter. Lol, i made the mistake of not wearing long pants the first time. Lesson learned!!

Definitely a big workout. And i make double the minimum wage at the time. Those farmers paid well for good help! But worked you hard.

@Funtoy4u yes, always a big lunch and a "coffee time" break in middle of the afternoon with sandwiches and cookies.
But spending any time in a 100F barn will wear you out, fast!
