Anyone ever worked at a school/university?

How was it? Good work/life balance?

I need a new job. One where I don't get penalized for taking time off.
One where I can actually use the PTO I have earned.

It was good the first half of the time and the last 7 years or so all of that crashed. We had a new president and although he promised not to contract out departments he was doing exactly that, so it was held over our heads and we had our workload nearly doubled. The stress was making people sick and injuries increased too. I guess if you find the right place to work it would be good.

@waleskinder I had a child to raise who needed health insurance and couldn’t quit and have medical care for her. And by the time she was grown and didn’t qualify for medical insurance I had a few years left till retirement & stuck it out. There was corruption and bad politics at the university with a new president and some of that is now coming to light. People too scared to speak out about, not only losing their jobs but even worse, no one person should ever have that much power. The name has been in the news nearly every day for a few months now...and all I can do is 🤣😂🤣....because karma is a bitch.

@waleskinder Worse than that even. What is sad was that the football coach was the highest paid public official in the state. The athletic coaches made more than the professors.

@waleskinder The tide has turned. It was worse than you think. This man had (used to) power in the world. Things have changed and I’m happy about that. Don’t see his big cronies coming to his defense.
