Is it wrong

To regularly cancel sitters hours unpaid? Casual arrangement but do need her there twice a week to help out.

Put yourself in her shoes - would you feel it would be wrong if she regularly cancelled/let you down, on the justification that it's only 'casual'?

@BalmyNites I get that but its not intentional or any reflection on her

@Jenni855 I didn't say it was, it is however, a moral issue & a reflection on your character if you feel it's acceptable to let someone down like that, when they rely on the money. On the rare occasion whereby it's unavoidable due to your circumstances, then I think you should pay the sitter, because it is you who is cancelling - not her.

@BalmyNites Noticed she keeps cancelling now too. I guess this is why. Tit for tat.

@Jenni855 Not necessarily - perhaps she feels you don't really value her time/services anyway, so is prioritising elsewhere? We all need to feel appreciated.

@BalmyNites Maybe. It's just frustrating. When we cancel it's for good reason. I get she needs to be paid but does feel she is lying and making up excuses at the moment

@Jenni855 Perhaps you cannot see the logic because you are too close to the situation, whereas to me, it is blatantly obvious there are double standards here & if, as you say, you "do need her there twice a week to help out" then best you start treating her with respect.
