Travelling for work?

Just interested in hearing about people that have to travel for work. How often do you have to travel for overnight or longer stays? Do you like it? Are there any perks etc?

Quite often, credit card rewards, all expenses are paid and max per diem

I do not travel as much as I use to, now maybe once every 6 weeks, for anywhere from a night to the full week.

When I was traveling more it got very old, 3-4 weeks in the month, 3-5 days per trip. It was fun to see new cities, and when I was in a new city I made the effort to get out and explore, so that is a perk. Also if your company let's you keep your points, that is a huge perk, I still have close to 500,000 Marriott points, can stay in Europe for three weeks without paying for a hotel. Same with airline points.

@Lackwittyname I'm doing more prep for my trips.. taking some of my own movies, because I am convinced normal tv is slowly killing me via stupidity.
I used to travel a lot for work. I loved it and enjoyed the points/perks. Then I got married and had a kid, being away so much put a strain on everything. It was no longer enjoyable. I do miss the adventure of meeting new people in new places. I still get to use my Hotel points and rental car rewards...

@Notmesam yep adding kids to the mix certainly brings everything down to earth. I only travel for work on unique occasions. However I love having a room to myself and in the morning I only have to sort myself out. It's great.

The perk is I get a couple relaxing nights away from the wife and kids.
