What's the best and fastest route to getting educated as an IT Tech?

I got offered a job in IT Tech support. I would be support for different businesses and their networks. What's the fastest way to learn this so I can be prepared to help clients trouble shoot their technology in an office environment?

@SW-User my sister owns a number of successful businesses in IT and other areas. I know some basics but not enough to feel confident yet.
