Always be aware of everything around you. Never let down your guard and look for potential hazards in everything at all times in all places. Don't be nervous or anxious, but just pay attention to everything. Stay sharp, and stay alive. (This would be for offloading tools, parts, and groceries from crew / supply boat to an oil rig in the gulf of Mexico, or tying off, or any other sphincter tightening activities that might come up.) That's mostly what I did for work. It was always kind of crazy work with crazy people. Before that I was a powder monkey for Northern Geophysical , and that would be the same advice pretty much. In between successes, I was a failure. That's pretty my life since getting out of the service.
