Have you ever gotten a request from someone on LinkedIn even if you never registered there?

What does that mean? Is this person really trying to contact me or does LinkedIn do it by itself and this person might not even be aware that I got the request?

I get those too, from people I don't know. It's a scam to get your contact info so they can send you spam and use your email account.

@CrazyMusicLover No, people I've never heard of. I don't have a field. They hijack people's contact list and send emails to everyone on it hoping a few will respond and they can hijack their account.
