Are you able to plan your life years ahead?

Yes it’s the sensible thing to do. You must set goals and then go on a path to try to achieve them. If you don’t do this then generally speaking you will stand the chance of drifting through life without achieving much. It’s true that things will come along that knock you off the path and change your direction. But when that happens you set new goals. When I was 17 I set a goal to retire early. I retired at 50. If I hadn’t set the goal early on I’d not have achieved it.
