Why? Just why? More questions from the break room

Scene: a lady with a large bag of ready to eat baby spinach. There’s a pile of plastic containers and a bag of obviously used crumpled paper towels on the table in front of her. She’s carefully examining each spinach leaf, pinching the rest of stem off and then arranging them perfectly in a single layer on a paper towel. When the layer is complete, she adds another paper towel to create a new layer.

She’s dressed to work but I haven’t seen her clock in yet. I’m pretty sure she came to work early to get her spinach sorted out.

This may be one of the most fascinatingly bizarre things I’ve ever witnessed.

You've not heard? spinach sorting is a thing now.. in 20 years what she is doing will be considered primative and insensitive and due to the growing plants rights movement.
