What’s The Most Ridiculous Reason Why You Got Fired?

I started working at a pizza buffet in 2014 when I was 16, it was my first job. I worked there for 2 years and I was probably the best overall employee there (not being full of myself I actually was), I had to put up with the stupid clique that formed there...it was all high schoolers and kids who were like 20 working there and they formed a clique of all the ‘managers’, aka shift leaders and whatever employee they liked enough to hang with them. These employees were treated a lot better by management, got to do whatever job they wanted to do for the day, and even went into the office to hangout while we were supposed to be working. The owner even liked them better cuz they liked to be suck ups, something even he admitted to once. So after 2 years of working in hell, even though I thought this was normal since it was my first job, I never once saw a raise because the owner apparently just couldn’t afford it...which is probably because he was more than likely screwing an manager there and paid her extra for it (story behind this is they would actively do things out of work like him apparently helping her look for an apartment to rent and it was the rumor that went around). I finally was told I was gonna be promoted to manager after 2 years, I waited for about a month a month and a half for it to happen but it didn’t. By that time I started dating a coworker. Finally he decided to promote me after another month. Within a month I was fired for apparently giving my girlfriend privileges others didn’t get. He tried saying that I was being fired cuz he’s seen on camera of me giving her a kiss in the office before either of us were clocked in and that I treated her better than other coworkers. The real story is that a girl I went to school with at the time was also my coworker and she had a problem with me having authority over her and would actively give me attitude over everything, which she could do since she was part of the clique with the other managers and would go out and drink and party with them. I finally talked to her in the office after her giving me a bunch of attitude in front of other employees where she cried and said she was calling the owner. I came into work that Monday and the owner sat me down and told me he was firing me because of my girlfriend and that that girl who called him told him all about it when they had a meeting earlier that day which I’m not really sure what it was since we never did anything at work. He never bothered asking me for my side of the story even though I was an upper level employee. (Later I found out this girl made the same amount of money I did and that she got a raise the same time I did, but I thought he couldn’t give out raises?). 3 months later the sub shop I worked for promoted me to shift leader and I made $1.75 more an hour working there than my job at the pizza buffet 😂 also the pizza buffet just recently closed down within 2 years.

I got fired from a deli job at Albertsons because of sexual harassment...

I was having an upset stomach and ent to the bathroom. A co-worker heard me throwing up and asked if I was ok. I was, just reflux and my stomach was bad bet I'd be fine in a moment and told her this.

When I got back to the deli another co-worker, creepy guy with a ton of write ups, made a joke about I must be pregnant and now we know what I'm doing all night after work. All I said was "ummmmmm, ok".

His extremely jealous and psycho girlfriend worked as a cashier and was buying her lunch at the counter, overheard what he said and lodged a complaint about me being inappropriate with her boyfriend.

So after two years working there and being assistant manager I was fired for sexual harassment and not given a chance to defend myself.

@EllaDisenchanted wow that’s pretty messed up. One thing I’ve noticed is stories like these that I read or hear about always are the same when it comes to us not being able to defend ourselves.
@Daniel1120 Yeah. He was nephew of that store manager so he didn't get fired until the manager retired.
